Dragon’s Own is a Calgary, Alberta based group of medieval entertainers who seek to provide an enjoyable medieval experience.
By combining historical realism with a touch of fantasy, and just a little poetic license, we provide a show that will thrill and entertain young and old alike. Unlike historic re-enactment societies, the Dragon’s Own use real weapons in battle, relying on extensive training and skills to bring medieval combat and tournament to life.

Where and when does Dragon’s Own practice?
Normally, Dragon’s Own practices at Pearce Estate Park every Sunday from
1:00PM – 4:00PM from April till October. Practices are weather dependent.
How can I join Dragon’s Own?
Just show up to one of our practices, and let us know you are interested. We can put you through basic staff practice and see if our group is the right fit for you.
Do I need to have my own gear to start?
No, but having your own gear is always fun! We do not expect someone just joining, or interested in trying out the group, to have all the gear needed to participate.
We have some loaner gear we can lend new members, as well as extra equipment on hand at practice for people to try.
Can I hire Dragon’s Own for a private event?
Yes! Contact us at docalgary@gmail.com for more information on hiring our fighters to perform at your function. Local rates are dependent on the length of the show and how many combatants are involved while out of town events have additional travel costs.
